Oh, and keep in mind, that blog was sort of my private journal for rambling thoughts and wasn't really meant for others to read, though I have shared it with some.

Mike,
I've read ~90% of the blog so far. I know a blog doesn't capture all that you were going through, or the thoughts that were going through your head. But it seems like your deconversion was rather abrupt. Is that what happened, or was it more gradual. Also I'm curious why you describe yourself as an agnostic atheist. Isn't agnosticism not knowing if there is a god or not, and atheism is more firm and saying that there is no god? Forgive me if I sound ignorant, since I haven't looked into this too much.

My recordings of the de-conversion may have been abrupt, but the de-conversion was a long time coming. Many years of me attempting to bridge the gap between God and me.

As Sting said in The Police song Oh My God

"Take the space between us
And fill it up some way.
Take the space between us
And fill it up some way."

I was actually just discussing the whole agnostic atheist thing, for some that's easier to comprehend than soft atheist or weak atheist. Basically, it's saying "I think does not exist" as upposed to saying "God does not exist".

One of the things that was a great help after my de-conversion was to find that I was not alone, that many had gone through what I had, and come out of Christianity as well.

It's somewhat eerie to see your prayers mirror mine of just over a year ago.

Here's my blog which was originally titled Questioning Christian and now is called Journey of an Ex-Christian: http://tinyurl.com/c2o5al

That page is the first month I posted, follow the dates on the right side to read more if you like.

I don't post there anymore, but you may find it interesting.
